The company name is derived from the unique vegetation of the region of Deep South Texas where the company is established, along the Rio Grande River Delta (commonly referred to as the Rio Grande Valley).  This area, along the Texas Gulf-Coastal Bend, is blessed, unlike the rest of the State, with a subtropical climate, adorned with “Resaca” (disconnected old river-beds turned into winding lakes) and native Sabal Palms.  The first European settlers brought the Mediterranean Canary Palms to nestle among the native Sables, an amalgam now so characteristic of the Deep South Texas landscape and a testament to its rich tradition of blending of the old with the new.
